First, some background. Campbell & Kate shirt sizes consist of two parts: the number size reflects your waist measurement, and the letter size reflects your bust measurement.

Example A: Size 8 fits a woman with a 29 inch waist. If her bust measures

9 inches greater than her waist (38”), she wears an 8S;
10 inches greater than her waist (39”), she wears an 8M;
11 inches greater than her waist (40”), she wears an 8L.

If your bust measurement is 12 to 12.5 inches greater than your waist measurement, choose the shirt size in the box above the intersection of your measurements.

Example B: Jenn has a 28 inch waist and a 40 inch bust. She will order a 6L.

Example C: Kristen has a 31.5 inch waist and a 44 inch bust. She will order a 12L.

If your bust measurement is 13 inches greater than your waist measurement, increase your waist measurement by one unit and choose the shirt size in the box above the new intersection. You may want to have the waist darts taken in by a tailor for a closer fit around your waist.

Example D:  Amy has a 28 inch waist and a 41 inch bust. She will order an 8L.

Example E: June has a 31 inch waist and a 44 inch bust. If she begins with the column for a 30 inch waist, she will need to increase her waist measurement by one unit and choose the shirt size in the box above the new intersection. In this case it will be a 12L. (If she begins with the column for a 31.5 inch waist, she will follow Example C to reach the same result.)

If your bust measurement is only 7 or 8 inches greater than your waist measurement, go down one waist measurement.

Example F: Heather has a 29 inch waist and a 36 inch bust. She will order a 6S.

Example G: Claudia has a 33 inch waist and a 41 inch bust. She will order a 12M.

Other tips:

When in doubt, round down (unless you prefer a looser fit). There is some play between sizes. Each bust measurement category can accommodate an extra 1.5 inches, and each waist measurement category can accommodate an extra 2 inches.

Example H: Karen has a 36 inch waist and a 47 inch bust. She will order a 16L.

Example I: Sonja has a 30 inch waist and a 41 inch bust. She will order an 8L, 10M or 10L depending on her preferred fit.

If your bust and/or shoulders are narrower than your hips, a Campbell & Kate shirt will likely be too tight around your hips.

If your bust measurement is greater than your waist measurement by 14 inches, a Campbell & Kate shirt may be too tight around your bust, even if you go up one size in the waist. However, there are exceptions to this in sizes 12 and 14. Please contact us for details.

If there is less than a 7 inch difference between your bust measurement and your waist measurement, a Campbell & Kate shirt will likely be too loose around your bust.

For optimum bust dart placement, wear your most uplifting bra beneath your Campbell & Kate shirt.
